The Traditional Classroom Gets A Technology Makeover

Across the world, the classroom of old is changing, and technology is driving the transformation. For a glimpse how, consider recently compiled data concerning back-to-school spending for this school year. American Express Spending & Saving Tracker data claims 92% of parents report their kids now use technology for learning, and 60% planned to buy their kids electronics this year, spending $505 on average for notebooks (28%), tablets (23%), cell phones (19%), and other items. Consumer Technology Association data shows 59% of U.S. citizens planning back-to-school purchases will buy tech-related products this year (up 12% from 2015), spending about $18.5 billion (up 6.2%).
