William A. Hamilton Ed. D., OTO President
Retired Superintendent, Walled Lake Schools
Dr. Hamilton is currently on the Board of Directors for the One-to-One Institute, bringing first hand knowledge as an administrator who implemented a One-to-One program, Anytime Anywhere Learning, into Walled Lake Schools. Dr. Hamilton is recently retired and former Superintendent of Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, the largest school district in Oakland County, Michigan. Walled Lake Schools has gained between 400 and 700 students each year since the late '80s. All schools are NCA accredited and the district has seen dramatic upward changes in its MEAP scores as a result of major curriculum changes driven by the district's strategic plan.
Before becoming Superintendent, Dr. Hamilton was Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, K-12 at Walled Lake Schools. As Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Hamilton's primary responsibilities included the design and implementation of all K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment including the ongoing development of Professional Learning Communities in all K-12 buildings. He was also responsible for all district technology including infrastructure, curriculum integration, and K-12 staff development. Dr. Hamilton was directly involved in many innovative programs, including the creation of an alternative high school, a computer leasing program, Reading Recovery program, Anytime Anywhere Learning laptop program, teacher evaluation model, and a district wide instructional accountability assessment system.
Dr. Hamilton has over 34 years of experience with Michigan schools and education. He has held positions as an English and Social Studies Teacher, Career Education Consultant, Coordinator for Placement and Follow-up Services, Director of Project EARLY, and Assistant Principal.
Brian A. McNulty Ph. D., OTO Chair
V.P., Leadership and Learning Center
Brian A. McNulty is currently on the Board of Directors for the One-to-One Institute and has a Ph.D. in Special Education Administration and Public Administration. He is the Vice-President for Leadership Development at the Center for Performance Assessment. In this capacity his responsibilities range from presentations to long term involvement with educators in their school improvement efforts. This includes in depth professional development and research with schools, districts, and state departments of education.
Before going to the Center, Dr. McNulty was the Vice-President of Field Services at McREL (Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning). In that position he was responsible for coordinating McREL's consulting, training, technical assistance and development of new programs and services based on McREL's applied research and development. Prior to joining McREL, Dr. McNulty served as the Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services, Adams County School District 14, Commerce City, Colorado. He is a former Assistant Commissioner of Education at the Colorado Department of Education.
Dr. McNulty has over 30 years experience in education. His areas of expertise include leadership development, school effectiveness and improvement, early childhood education, and special education. He has published numerous professional articles and chapters, and lectured extensively in these areas. He recently co-authored School Leadership That Works with Robert J. Marzano, and Timothy Waters (ASCD, 2005).
Eileen Lento, Ph.D., OTO Secretary
Director of Worldwide Strategy and Marketing for Intel Education
Currently at Intel, Dr. Lento is developing and implementing holistic models for guiding school systems along the technology adoption curve. These models recognize that such efforts demand more than simply providing students and educators with laptops. The work addresses the need for quantitative and qualitative results, visionary leadership, creative funding, rich digital content, ongoing professional development, all supported by a solid infrastructure. Additionally, she brings awareness to the need for advocacy around policies necessary for such systemic reform efforts to gain real traction (i.e., scale and sustainability). Previously, she was the Director of Learning Technologies for PASCO Scientific and an Assistant Professor of Research in the Learning Sciences, Northwestern University. Having worked on several large scale NSF and DOE projects, she is dedicated to transforming learning experiences via teaching and learning processes that take full advantage of technology so that all students can achieve the high standards essential for them to be successful. Dr. Lento has won a number of awards as well as published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Camille B. Jones, OTO Treasurer
Chief Information Officer, Baltimore County Public Schools
Camille B. Jones is an information technology professional with over 15 years of extensive, diversified and progressive experience in all facets of information services. In her many roles in the field of technology both in business and education, she has worked with hardware and application support, project management and provided leadership in the implementation of information systems functions including financial, employee, business and student systems, network, web and client servers, storage systems, telecommunications, data center operations.
She is currently the Chief Information Officer with the Baltimore County Public Schools where she directs the instructional, business, and management technology programs. She previously was the Director of Technology in the Lansing Public School District and the Information Systems Director of J.F. Drake State Technical College. Before working in the educational field, she worked as a business analyst for BellSouth and Entergy Services, Inc.
She has managed technology programs including one-to-one laptop rollout, LAN wiring in district buildings, data center relocation, enterprise-wide wireless implementation, video conferencing and distance learning and many professional development programs in education and business.
Matt Williams, OTO Board Trustee
Vice President of National Advocacy and Partnerships, KnowledgeWorks Foundation
Matt Williams currently serves as the Vice President of National Advocacy and Partnerships for KnowledgeWorks Foundation. In this role, he is responsible for directing both federal and state relations on behalf of the Foundation. Matt assists the various divisions, subsidiaries, and major invesments of KnowledgeWorks in building and maintaining relationships to advance their initiatives and also assists in advancing policy priorities for the Foundation.
Prior to his current roles, Matt served as Director of Public Affairs and was responsible for directing both federal and state relations on behalf of the Foundation. Matt joined the Foundation, in 2006, as a Program Officer in college and career access, providing leadership for the national community college initiative Achieving the Dream, P-16, and other college and career access programming. He is the former Director for GEAR UP Waco, a comprehensive, collaborative grant project focused on increasing college access in Waco, Texas. In addition, Matt was an instructor in the Civic Education Department at Baylor University.
Matt earned a B.A. in History from the University of Texas at San Antonio and an M.S. in Education from Baylor University.
He is a former member of the national board for the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. He has served on the Texas Governor's Advisory Council for Mentoring, as well as advisory councils on after-school programming for the National Mentoring Partnership and the National League of Cities, and has worked on advocacy initiatives with the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships.
