Initiatives for one-to-one educational technology (1:1), one computer device per student, have become increasingly common in K-12 education. Beginning in 2011, the Ozarks Educational Research Initiative (OERI)—a cooperative partnership among 15 schools districts, a laboratory school, and the Institute for School Improvement at Missouri State University—began a multi-year project focused on research into effective practices for using digital technologies to enhance student learning and school effectiveness.
