Becoming a Digital Citizen

"I was very impressed with the Immersion Training for the teachers and the OTO Digital Coach did a phenomenal job with our staff. The teachers came in feeling very overwhelmed about the new 1:1 program but by the end of the training, they were much more at ease. This training was essential to getting our 1:1 off on the right foot."

“I just wanted to say thanks for giving me direction with the Principals/Leadership team. I created a walk-through form to collect data, and the principals now have iPads to use to collect that data.”

“I am glad to see the evaluation shows signs of transformation. That is exactly what we wanted. That transformation has to be attributed to your team’s presentation of their knowledge and experience. Thank you again for your patience, flexibility and professionalism.”

The Auburn City School System (ACS), was established in 1961 and is now the city’s second largest employer. ACS is a relatively young system; yet, it has become a recognized leader in education throughout the state of Alabama. The mission statement of Auburn City Schools is to “Inspire, Educate, and Empower”. Because education is a highly valued commodity, expectations by the community are ambitious. Teachers and administrators are challenged to meet the high standards set by the school system itself and by actively involved parent groups.

At a time when every facet of society is searching for effective leaders, nowhere is it more vital than in education. The wide range of diversity throughout the City of Auburn has always required a level of administrative leadership that is intrinsically different from most systems.

The primary focus of the curriculum is to prepare students to achieve their unique maximum potential. Auburn students consistently score above the state and national averages in all areas of assessment. Auburn High School averages seven National Merit finalist/semi-finalist each year from the senior class. Upon graduation, approximately 84% of the graduates move on to higher education.

The leadership of Auburn City Schools has, for years, recognized the importance of implementing the best practices and remaining on the cutting edge of innovation for effective instruction.
