Teaching in a 21st Century Learning Environment
OTO provides half day, full day and ongoing professional development for effective instruction in 21st century environments. Listed below is a sample of the most frequently sought teacher training sessions.
  • Integrating Technology into Curriculum and Instruction -  During this full or half day session teachers will learn how to effectively integrate technology into the classroom. Teachers will be pre-assessed before the session to ensure their level of need is addressed.
  • Creating the 21st Century Classroom: Shifting from Traditional -  This half day session will help teachers understand the shift from a traditional classroom to a 21st Century classroom. Examples of current 21st Century classrooms will be used.
  • Survival Toolkit for Teachers in the21st Century Classroom -  This half day session will provide teachers new to the 21st century classroom the essential tools to begin teaching and learning in a 21st century environment.
  • Classroom Management in Technology Enhanced Environments

 

  • Classroom Performance System Presentation -This half day session will provide an overview of several different classroom performance systems.

 

  • SMART Board Application Presentation - This half day session will provide teachers with the skills to effectively use their SMART Boards in the classroom.

  • Engaging Social Networks for Instruction and Learning Communities

 

  • Podcasting in the Classroom -  This half day workshop will provide teachers with the tools needed to learn how to create their own Podcasts. Teachers should expect to create one Podcast to take away at the end of their session.
  • Screencasting - This half day workshop will provide teachers with the tools needed to learn how to create their own Screencast. Teachers should expect to create one Screencast to take away at the end of their session.

  • Content and Curriculum Tools

 

  • Web 2.0 Tools -  During this full or half day session teachers will receive an overview of useful web 2.0 tools for the classroom. This session will provide many opportunities for hand-on training.

  • How to ensure capacity and sustainability for teaching in 21st century classrooms
